The '90s were full of things to forget. However, some trends were popular during the decade that have begun to come back.
The 1990s were a rather outrageous time to be alive, with the start of the digital era calling for new and exciting things to be explored. This is where the internet was born, baggy jeans were cool, and frosty tips in your hair were a must-have. Nonetheless, a lot of these are subjective upon whether they should've stayed in the past or not. Yet these particular ones are coming back whether you like it or not.
1. Oversized Denim
Denim has been a staple of fashion for years, and I don't see that changing for quite some time. However, it is the way that denim is worn that makes it unique to the '90s. Big oversized jackets and jeans were the way to wear denim back then and are now crawling their way back into fashion for both ladies and blokes.
2. Doc Martens
Docs have also been around for years and really found their place in the '80s and '90s. However, in the last couple of years, it's all you really see around town. Known for their sturdiness and longevity, they are ideal for anyone who needs a formal/casual boot.
3. The Fringe or "Bangs"
The classic cut for ladies to have back in the '90s, that showed both risk and an adventurous side. What was hiding under that lovely piece of hair? No one would ever know. However, the cut usually ended in a big stage of regret or a beautiful look.
4. Plaid Clothing
Plaid clothing is another '90s trend that has evolved over the years. From high flying lawyers to the grunge look of the '90s everyone can agree that plaid is one to stay. However, it is now being seen in nicely tailored suits for blokes and a go-to for ladies' pants.
Overalls have the potential to make you look like a painter or a young child however, this outfit was a must-have in the '90s. With iconic stars such as Will Smith rocking them they soon became very popular, whilst still being used by tradesmen. This style has found its way back into fashion today.
6. Baggy Jeans
Baggy jeans during the '90s became popular as a result of the grunge and skate punk scene. They were as popular as skinny jeans have been for the last decade. As well as being incredibly more comfortable than skinny jeans, this '90s look is great for both ladies and gents. With icons such as Billie Eilish pushing the baggy movement expect to see this style more often.
Many people believe that the '90s were filled with a lot of things that need to be forgotten. However, the trends and fashion that we are seeing today, is definitely influenced by the '90s. So put on your favorite '90s look, as you never know what the world of fashion has in store.
